New Twitter (X) update exposes MAGA grifters and more

Elon Musk has approved an update to X that shows an account’s location — revealing many of his and Donald Trump’s grifter influencers aren’t actually American.

Elon Musk has taken a rare Twitter (X) W with the rollout of locations on profiles — revealing that many of the site’s top MAGA influencers are actually foreign users — likely trying to drive engagement in an effort to monetize, as the platform gives users a revenue share based off impressions.

The new “About This Account” feature can be found by clicking on the date the account joined. It allows others to see where an account is based, when they joined the platform, how many times they’ve changed their username, and how they downloaded the app.

Users in a country where speech has penalties are allowed to toggle the location to only show the region. Currently, the exclamation point near where the ‘Account based in’ section could mean the page in question is using a VPN, especially if the page has the ‘connected via’ section as a different country. X has also said they will be adding a VPN indicator this week.

X’s head of product, Nikita Bier, says: “This is an important first step to securing the integrity of the global town square. We plan to provide many more ways for users to verify the authenticity of the content they see on X.”

Below, we’ve compiled tons of ‘Americans’ and other grifters who have been exposed in the new update:

Grifters like Tim Pool tried to get in on the joke, but that immediately backfired.

Grifter ‘prediction’ (gambling) websites got caught up in it all as well.

Even pop culture accounts weren’t safe from the bloodbath. Pages like DanielRPK and MyTimeToShine, known for sharing fake updates about movies, are now highly suspected to be the same person, or at minimum ran by the same people. In the past, they’ve coordinated retweeting each others ‘scoops’, gambling ads, and clickbait articles to sites such as Real Screen Geek.

The MyTimeToShine account even attempted to come up with some elaborate story about using VPNs when the writing was on the wall that locations were going to be exposed.

The creepy guy who constantly posts either half-naked pictures of women or 100% AI-generated tweets on Cinesthetic was also revealed to be from South Asia. His exact country of origin has been hidden.

A TDE fanboy page, who has used the N word in many tweets, also got exposed as being from India with the update. His anger towards Elon Musk is pure comedy.

This wasn’t the only hip hop page pretending to be ran by a black person to get cooked with the update:

This article will continue to be updated as more clowns get exposed. For more social media news, check out our section on the site.
