The actor reportedly repeated that phrase and kept clapping during the entire third act of the film.

Tom Cruise is continuing his streak of championing other filmmakers, this time giving Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey an endorsement after a surprise IMAX screening with AMC employees. According to a staff member who attended the showing, Cruise repeatedly praised the film throughout the third act, calling it ‘so fucking sick.’

The screening came after Cruise reportedly arrived too late for a previous showing and instead invited AMC staff members to join him for a private screening. One employee, who posted about the experience on X, described Cruise as ‘just a guy who really loves movies like the rest of us.’
“When he found out we hadn’t seen it, he insisted we join him. Got to geek out with him about Dune after the prologue. Unreal stuff. He really really cares and was so down to earth. Lovely man.”
He was actually really kind and made us feel super special and welcome. Made a point to tell us we work hard and that inviting us in was the least he could do, offered to buy us snacks, and wanted to make sure we got home safe by the end of the night. Class act if you ask me.

When asked what Cruise thought of The Odyssey, the employee replied:
“Absolutely loved it. He was clapping with us all through the third act. He just kept uttering the phrase, ‘that was so fucking sick!’ the whole time. He was sitting right behind us throwing little comments and jokes our way. Made an epic movie even better!”
Tom Cruise also loved the exclusive Dune 3 prologue so much that he called the film’s producer right after watching it to tell them how great it was.
Cruise has become one of Hollywood’s most vocal supporters of theatrical releases, regularly promoting films from other studios alongside his own. In the past year, he’s publicly praised movies including Ryan Coogler’s Sinners and Joseph Kosinski’s F1, encouraging audiences to experience them on the biggest screen possible. He’s also begun the marketing campaign for his upcoming comedy Digger, with the film’s first trailer releasing this week, along with a short teaser during The World Cup.
