Rockstar Games is facing another major leak after alleged Grand Theft Auto VI gameplay footage and images of the game’s map began circulating online.
The leak reportedly includes two gameplay clips featuring Jason, one of GTA 6’s two protagonists. One shows Jason playing basketball outside his waterfront home, while another depicts a traffic collision escalating into a confrontation and police pursuit.
Details visible in the footage appear to suggest GTA 6 could feature a six-star wanted level, a stamina meter, vehicle fuel and engine systems, storage inside vehicles and a morality-style system similar to Red Dead Redemption 2. Images purportedly showing the wider Leonida map have also circulated.
The footage could also originate from an older development build, meaning any mechanics shown may have since been altered or removed. Several copies have already disappeared from social media.
An individual or group operating under the name CYBERLEEK has claimed responsibility. In a statement explaining its alleged motive, CYBERLEEK criticized digital preorders, paid or withheld single-player content and what it considers broader anti-consumer practices across the gaming industry:
“CYBERLEEK will not stop until they issue a public statement and apology with a concrete commitment to be better”
The leaker also indicated that Rockstar may not be its only target, warning that other major publishers could face similar “disruptions” if they violate its stated demands. It remains unclear how much additional GTA 6 material CYBERLEEK possesses or whether it has access to unreleased content from other games.
The leak arrives shortly before Rockstar’s planned extended look at GTA 6 on August 27. Grand Theft Auto VI is currently scheduled to launch November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
Take-Two has since escalated its efforts to identify the person or group behind the GTA 6 leaks, issuing DMCA subpoenas to Microsoft and Discord seeking records that could reveal the leaker’s identity, including information connected to the “Cyberleek” persona. The situation has become even more serious as newly released footage strongly suggests the leaker has, or at least previously had, access to a playable build of the game, rather than simply obtaining pre-recorded footage. One clip appears to show the player deliberately using Jason to shoot the word “LEEK” into a wall, indicating direct control over the game. However, it remains unclear how complete or recent the build is, or whether Cyberleek personally possesses it.
